Benefits of Cloud Computing with Office 365

Did you know that you are only using 5% of your Office 365 subscription?  With Premium Cloud, we can take you to the next level by unlocking the potential of the 95% that you are not using.  Here are just some of the capabilities you can use to expand your workforce.

1. The Ability to Work Remotely

70% of modern professionals work remotely at least one day a week and 53% work at least half of the week.  More and more businesses are adopting remote work policies.  You must give your teams access to the tools and technologies necessary to work effectively remotely.

Because Office 365 is entirely cloud-based, emails, files, and Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) can be accessed from any location and any device.  For example, network shares can be moved to one drive; traditional email systems can be transferred to Exchange Online.  All of these capabilities are included in your Office 365 subscription and will allow your workforce to work from anywhere and be completely backed up.  You no longer need standard servers and hardware in an office that is depreciating and requiring constant maintenance.  And all of this is included in most current 365 subscriptions.

2. Streamlined Business Collaboration

If you have any number of employees in your business, collaboration can suffer when every team member isn’t working from the same location.  Your employees need access to modern business collaboration tools that make it possible to brainstorm, work together on a project, or go over edits and approvals remotely and in real-time.

With Office 365, its features are designed with collaboration in mind.  When you unlock the potential of Office 365, users will be able to work on and edit documents while both users have the same document open.  This type of collaboration is vital to any organization that needs to be innovative and to be able to meet customers’ needs in real-time.

3. Simplified Virtual Communication

According to Buffer’s 2019 State of Remote Work Report, 17% of workers claim communication and collaboration is the biggest struggle of working remotely.  Giving your employees the tools they need to communicate with their teams effectively can mean the difference between engaged, successful teams and isolated, unhappy employees.

Office 365’s features and benefits are meant to make effective communication possible.  With Microsoft Teams, Outlook Groups, Sway, Yammer, SharePoint, and other Office 365 apps, already included in your subscription, users will be able to communicate more effectively.

4. Cybersecurity - Advanced Security Features

Keeping data secure should be a priority for every business.  One of the significant benefits of having a cloud-based system is that it’s continuously updated.  You will always have the latest security patch without making manual updates or purchasing add-ons.

When you unlock the potential in Office 365, you’ll get data encryption both at rest and in transit, enforced multifactor authentication for users, region-based data residency, and phishing email protection through Outlook.  These features must be in place to protect against ransomware attacks and email hijacking again.  These Office 365 features can give you peace of mind that your data will stay secure, even with employees accessing it from any device.

5. File Storage and Sharing Capabilities

With Office 365, you no longer need traditional servers with file storage and sharing capabilities.  With OneDrive(an Office 365 application), you’ll be able to access all your files no matter what device you’re logged into, whether it’s a Windows, Mac, or mobile device.  You’ll also be able to securely share files both inside and outside your organization, meaning coworkers, customers, and clients alike will be able to access the information they need to keep business moving along.  Office 365 with OneDrive has conditional policies to ensure that critical documents are not accessed outside the organization.

6. Business Intelligence

Office 365 can provide your customers and employees with artificial intelligence to detect documents and emails and understand how to process them or respond.  You no longer need to burden your staff with redundant tasks that Office 365 can take care of you.  For example, do you need to look for documents with customer data and move them to a secure location to protect customers’ data?  Office 365 has the intelligence to do that for you.  Or if a customer is looking for a particular part or needs more information about a service.  Office 365 has the intelligence to detect and respond.  These tasks are just a small example of what this service can do.

A: Yes and no.  It could be your biggest ally or your biggest nightmare.   You need to ensure that your security is updated and some multi-factor authentication is required.  The cloud has a lot of benefits, not just for a remote workforce.  It can also protect from the latest variance of ransomware and other attacks using the power of AI.  You can only get this level of protection from a cloud-based system.

A: The price of the cloud will be what you are spending now, with the hardware price over three years.  For example, if you spend 5,000 dollars on a server for your organization, then moving that system to the cloud would be about $140 a month.  This calculation is a rough estimate, and there are a lot of factors to get to the final number.  But, this is what you should expect to pay for your cloud system.  The good news is you do not have to pay for the power and the routine maintenance of the system.  That is all taken care of by the cloud.

A: At Premium Cloud, we will work with your team to understand the processes you have in place and the system that you are currently using.  One of our superpowers is making your computer system work for you.  We can automate many systems to make the cloud work for you and turn everyday tasks to a click of a button.  Workloads that used to take hours now will take seconds.  All of the cloud systems we assist you to put in place will always be more accessible than the system you are using today.
